Elko Glass ServiceElko Glass Service, Est. 1980

Elko Glass Service is a family owned and operated business. It was established in 1980, in Elko, Nevada. Fred and Bonnie Howe opened Elko Glass Service in March of 1980, in a rented, one bay shop on West Commercial Street. Fred had been the owner of Reno Glass and Washoe Glass (both located in Reno), but sold both businesses in 1978. He moved his family from Reno to Elko because Elko seemed like a great town to raise a family. This was an easy move for Bonnie because she was born and raised in Carlin, Nevada.

In the early years of Elko Glass Service, Fred did all types of glass work. This included residential, commercial, and auto glass. In 1982, Elko Glass Service moved to the corner of 12th and Silver Streets. The business would remain there until 1999. While at that location, Elko Glass Service would slowly begin to specialize in auto glass replacement only.

In 1996, Fred and Bonnie were joined at Elko Glass Service by their son, Rick, and his good friend, Justin Ridgway. In 1999, Elko Glass Service grew out of its location on 12th Street, and moved into its current location at 1955 Pinion Road. The new building was specifically designed by Fred Howe for auto glass replacement.

In 2001, Elko Glass Service hired its 4th auto glass installer, David Nielson, and continued to grow.

In 2006, Rick and Erica Howe purchased Elko Glass Service from Fred and Bonnie Howe. Fred and Bonnie are now retired and enjoy spending time with their six grandchildren.

Rick, Erica, Justin, and David are still running the business today. Come into Elko Glass Service and you will see them.
